One of my passions

One of my passions in life is helping those in need. Whether it be spiritual or material poverty, my hearts desire is to serve others. To provide support and love to the best of my abilities. Sometimes I wish I was rich just so I could take care of my whole family, plus be able to always give money to those in need. But the Lord has shown me that when I am unable to give in material ways that I can reach out just by giving a smile, by not being affraid to hug a stranger. By opening my heart to that person sitting across from me who just needs to talk.

I believe it is all of ours responsibility to provide aid not only with our pocketbooks but with the Love of Christ and the love in our hearts. I think that that is why I am so impressed with Bono's One.org. This is a group of people from literally all walks of life and faith coming together and recgonizing that poverty needs to be addressed. And that just digging into our pocket books(while extremely effective) is not all that needs to be done. But that we need to also effect social changes throughout the world to combat poverty. If we only give these people money and medicine,. but do not educate or provide options then they will just return to poverty. That is also why I support James Robinson and other Christian social groups and am a strong supporter of Non-Violent Pro-life groups who set out to educate woman about the emotional, mental and physical effects of pregnancy and abortion.
